The mandatory fields that are imported into the library system when synching with Active Directory are:

Logon Name

Security ID

Email Address

However, if other information is stored in Active Directory such as the address or telephone number, it may be desirable to sync these fields also. A list of standard fields that can be imported are found below:

Surname and Forename

Address

Telephone Numbers

Primary Group

Photograph

The extra fields can be selected from the Extras tab of the Directory Services configuration.

In addition to these fields, it is possible to 'map' fields of a borrower in the library system to fields in the Active Directory. This can be done on the Advanced tab of the Directory Services configuration. The fields that can be mapped to any field in the Active Directory are:

Barcode

Management System ID

UPN

RFID

Tutor Group

Year Group

To map any one of these fields to a designated field in Active Directory, type in the name of the field into the corresponding text box. For example, to map each Borrower RFID number to the Pager in Active Directory, type in Pager and then click OK to save the settings.

When the synchronisation is next run, the pager field from the record in Active Directory is imported onto the linked borrower record in the library system. The same principal can be applied to the other fields.
