BulkScan has two main purposes. The first is to allow the user to type in the barcode number of a book if for example the barcode is damaged or if a barcode reader is not being used.

 

The second purpose is to speed up the process of scanning items. Every batch of 25 books that are scanned into BulkScan are automatically downloaded into the Checked Items list. Using BulkScan is quicker than simply scanning a barcode into the Checked items list as the item is processed in the background rather than being processed when scanning. This allows the user to continue scanning barcodes quickly without having to wait between scans.

 

·To access BulkScan, first load the Stock Check Interface and then click BulkScan from the tool bar.

 

 

 

·Scan the books barcode (not the books ISBN) or alternatively type the number of the book into the text box and press ENTER. Any books that are typed/scanned are appended to the list as shown below.

 

 

 

·Once you have scanned in all required numbers, click the OK button and the barcodes that were entered will be added to the Checked Items list, in the Stock Check window.
