When cataloguing a large pile of books in one go, you will often find that there are certain fields which frequently crop up from record to record. For instance, if you are cataloguing books all from one publisher, it is likely that the data you enter into the "Publisher" field will be the same each time but it may not automatically be populated. This is where the F9 key on your keyboard can come in handy. You can use this key to enter the data that was entered on the previous record, simply click in the field you want and pressing F9. The instructions below demonstrate this in more detail.

We have a video available that demonstrates how to use the F9 feature

·Add the first resource in Management. An example record is shown below. Notice how the Publisher field contains "Dragon's World".

·On the next resource you are cataloguing, put the cursor in any field one of the fields that you had defined on the previous record. In this example, the cursor is put into the Publisher field. Notice at the moment how it is empty.

·Press F9 on the keyboard and watch how the data contained within the Publisher field from the previous record is inserted.

This example demonstrated the use of the F9 key in the Publisher field but the same steps apply to most other fields too.
