Setting Restrictions on Resource Types

It is possible for the user to specify restrictions for the in-built resource types, which will impact all resources catalogued under that resource type. In addition to setting restrictions at the resource level it is also possible to do so at the borrower level. If the system is presented with a situation where there is more than one restriction set up, the lowest one is always chosen, with the exception of Locking Restrictions (which always takes precedence).

The instructions in this topic explain how to configure the resource type restrictions.

·To begin, access the resource type restrictions.

·From the list of Available Resource Types, click on the resource type to change and click Modify. For instance, if editing restrictions for the Book resource type, click Book and then Modify.

·Enter the desired settings into each field and click OK to save the changes.
